Can I add an authorised user to my credit card through Online Banking?

It is possible to have one authorised user on your credit card account. To add an authorised user to your credit card

  • Log in to Online Banking
  • Select 'Account Services' on the left of the screen
  • Select 'My credit card' tab on the top of this page
  • Select the credit card you would like the authorised user to access
  • Under 'More Available Options' select 'add authorised user'
  • Complete the details of the authorised user to be added as they appear on the screen and select 'next'.
  • You will then receive a confirmation screen to confirm the authorised user has been added.

Please note: an authorised user must be over 16 years of age.

    What is the payment due date?

    This is the date by which the minimum payment should reach your account, the details can be found at the bottom of your credit card statement.

    How do I sign up for credit card eStatements?

  • Log in to Online Banking
  • Select 'Account Services' on the left of the screen
  • Select the 'My credit card' tab on the top of this page
  • Select the credit card you would like to register for eStatements
  • Under 'More Available Options' select 'Register for eStatements'. You can register all your accounts or one account from the list available.
  • Read and agree to the terms & conditions and select 'next' to continue
  • Enter the requested code from your code card, and select 'confirm'
  • You will then be returned to the confirmation screen with a message to confirm that you have been successfully registered for eStatements

How will signing up for credit card eStatements affect my payment due date?

Your payment due date will remain unaffected by signing up for credit card eStatements. It will continue to be clearly displayed on your eStatement and you must continue to ensure that you make your payment by this date.

How can I make my credit card payment?

As you will no longer receive your paper statement in the post, you can pay your credit card bill either through the 'Transfers & Payments' option in Online Banking or via Phoneline Banking, by calling 0845 793 0000. You will receive a text message to advise you when your statement is available to view.

How do I report my credit card lost or stolen?

It is extremely important that you contact First Trust Bank immediately to report your credit card lost or stolen on 028 9024 1822 or when abroad 0044 2890 241822 (24 hours a day). A new PIN and credit card will be ordered and sent to you separately in the post.

Can I request a replacement credit card ?

If your card is damaged you can request a replacement of your existing credit card

  1. Log in to Online Banking
  2. Select 'Account Services' on the left of the screen
  3. Select the 'My credit card(s)' tab on the top of this page
  4. Select the credit card you would like to replace
  5. Under 'More Available Options' select 'Request replacement card'.
  6. You will then be presented with a confirmation screen and will be requested to enter a code from your code card to confirm the process.

Will I receive a new PIN with my replacement card?

Your existing PIN is still valid with your replacement card. Should you require a reminder of your current PIN you can do so through the PIN reminder service on Online Banking if your credit card is registered.

Can I request a replacement card for the authorised user on my credit card account?

No, you can only request a replacement card for yourself through Online Banking. An authorised user can request a replacement card by logging into their Online Banking profile, if they are registered.

What should I do with my existing card when I receive my replacement card?

Upon receipt of your replacement card you should cut your existing card in two (through the signature box, magnetic strip and chip) and dispose of them carefully

No, you can only request a PIN reminder for yourself through Online Banking. An authorised user can request a PIN reminder by logging into their Online Banking profile if they are registered.

Can I view the terms and conditions of my credit card?

You can view the terms and conditions of your existing credit card by logging in to Online Banking.

  • Select 'Account Services' on the left of the screen
  • Select the 'My credit card (s)' tab on the top of this page
  • Select the credit card you would like to view
  • Under 'More Available Options' select 'View credit card terms and conditions'

Please Note: you then need to select the terms and conditions for your card type from the list.

Can I change my credit card account address through Online Banking?

You can change your credit card account address by logging in to Online Banking

  • Select 'Account Services' on the left of the screen
  • Select the 'My credit card (s)' tab on the top of this page
  • Select the credit card you would like to update
  • Under 'More Available Options' select 'Change credit card address'

Please note: this will only update the credit card address, no other addresses held by us will be updated.

Can I change my address for my other branch accounts through Online Banking?

No, you cannot change your address for your other branch accounts through Online Banking. To do this you will need to contact your branch.

No, an authorised user cannot change the credit card address. This service is available to primary cardholders only.
