How can I apply?

Note:This programme has no closing date and applications are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Step 1: Complete the "Am I eligible?" section and read through the terms and general guidelines to see if your group may be eligible for funding.

Step 2: If your project appears to be eligible you need to obtain an application form. This can be done by choosing one of the following:

  • Calling into your local AIB or First Trust branch.
  • Filling in the online application form (link to application form).
  • Printing out the acrobat version of the form (link to PDF of the application form).

Step 3: Fill out the application form using “Tips and Hints for preparing an application ” as a guide to ensure that all the relevant information is given.

Step 4: If you are submitting the form to the local branch you need to accompany it with a cover letter and mark it for the attention of the Better Ireland Programme Co-ordinator.

Step 5: The application is then assessed by the Better Ireland Programme Committee. In some cases, further information may be requested and applicants may also be required to meet the branch co-ordinator to discuss the details of the project.

Step 6: Depending on the quality of information required you will be notified of the decision within one month after submission.
